Howth is a mandatory picturesque spot every nature lover, seafood lover, hiker, swimmer, influencer, sketcher, writer, rock collector, bird watcher, and pretty much anyone who travels to Dublin should visit.
It’s my favourite place in Dublin and I’ve visited Howth in all seasons and pretty much in all weather conditions.
Howth is a prime spot for fresh seafood, a favourite trail for most hikers in Dublin, and a great place to catch late sunrises in winter. One of my best experiences there was taking a boat ride around Ireland’s Eye and seeing seals and puffins in the late spring.
Foraging blackberries during late summer is another hobby my partner developed since we moved here. It’s so fun, and also risky, wouldn’t really recommend it.
If you’re a vintage cars lover, you’ll surely enjoy the National Transport Museum there.
Famous poet/writer WB Yeats too lived in Howth for a couple of years, you can go take a selfie outside his house if you’re a fan.
There’s also a beautiful botanical garden, a castle, golf clubs, a yacht club, sea kayaking, many historical landmarks, and so many things to see, and so much to do.
